Chinese student Julia Xu was asked for her views on the death of Charlie Kirk, and she said, "We need to restore political assassination; not everyone deserves to enjoy freedom of speech, and some people should be afraid to express their opinions." Her professor defended her and even said after class that he agreed with her views. Oberlin College in Ohio, where she attends, has had a strong progressive tendency since its founding and has historically been regarded as one of the most progressive institutions of higher education.
